This course covers the residential furnace and provides a familiarization of all components that make up the unit. We will cover the basic combustion process and efficiency standards as they apply to furnaces. From there, we will cover all components in the unit from the gas valve, burners, and actual combustion, to the controls, safeties, blower assemblies, and heat exchangers. For each area, we will focus on what the parts are, where they are located in the equipment, and what they do.
